Creating experiences people love since 95

"You'll never make it," the advisor sitting across from us declared, leaning back in his imposing black chair.

The year was 1995, and we'd just shared our vision for starting a new kind of business after graduation.

"99% of new businesses fail in the first year..." he continued with a smirk, wrinkles deepening across his face like battle scars of skepticism. "But I'm happy to take your money to set things up if you want... Are you sure?" 😤

At 24, I'd never been more certain about anything. Yet his words sent ice through my veins. Was our chance of success really just a measly 1%? Should I cave and accept the safe job offer? Was I sentencing myself to more years of cheap noodles and shared living? 🍜

Were we flushing our precious cash down the drain when even the person we hired for guidance was practically begging us not to proceed? 🤑

Would we simply become another statistic?

Not even close.

Now in 2025, Fusion is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The journey hasn't been smooth sailing, but it's been exhilarating and deeply rewarding. Our founding vision – fusing sharp strategy, human-centred design, and cutting-edge technology to "create experiences people love" – didn't just work out. It thrived.

I'm profoundly grateful to every client, team member, mentor, and partner who contributed their magic to helping Fusion weather storms, embrace learning curves, and achieve sustainable growth. Every single person in our three-decade story has left their fingerprints on the organisation we've become.

That advisor was right about one thing though. His 99% death sentence applied to others—just not us. Not a single competitor from our first five years remains standing today. Not one! Even most rivals from the past five years have vanished—either died or swallowed by acquisition. 🪦

So what's our survival secret? Stay true to your purpose. Nurture your culture. Adapt, innovate, evolve!

Simple to say. Hard to live. But absolutely essential.

The digital products we've crafted now touch millions of lives every month. We've pioneered countless ‘firsts’ in transforming how people experience technology.

Thirty years later, that advisor's black power chair is probably gathering dust somewhere. 🗑️

Meanwhile, we're just getting started on our next chapter.
